BBS juniors and seniors with a minimum GPA of 2.5 may be eligible to enroll in an internship course and receive credit for a paid or volunteer work experience that is relevant to their degree. Students enrolled in an internship course must work eight hours per week, attend an internship seminar, and complete other course assignments.
Students MUST meet with a BBS academic advisor before they can register for an internship course. Students are responsible for securing their own internships; BBS advisors can help with identifying potential internship sites.
BBS offers two internship course options, depending on a student’s needs and experiences:
The internship must begin in the first week of the term. Because of time and scheduling demands, students who have full-time jobs are strongly discouraged from enrolling in an internship course.
Student interns represent UT Dallas and are expected to conduct themselves professionally at all times. Interns should wear suitable attire and act appropriately in professional settings. Interested students can find out more about potential internship sites and interviewing for an internship.
