Research Funding

Federal Funding — Enhancing Collaborative Grants for Texas Pain Researchers — Multi-PI R01s are increasingly more successful than the traditional single PI R01 application. Texas Pain Research Consortium activities will enhance cutting-edge collaborations across the state pairing researchers with the best teams to accomplish their goals. As the Texas Pain Research Consortium grows we anticipate using our collective influence to shape the next generation of NIH Requests for Applications (RFAs).

Foundation Funding — Developing the Texas Pain Research Foundation — While NIH funding may be on an upward trend in the near future, the past decade has taught that the future of NIH funding is far from certain. Pain research in Texas could be supported by philanthropic efforts that emphasize the unique nature of pain research in the state. To achieve this, we will start a Texas Pain Research Foundation with the expressed goal of raising state and private funds to advance innovative projects in Texas.
