Temoc the Comet

Temoc Primary Illustrations
Temoc Secondary Illustrations

Temoc is the official UT Dallas mascot. These illustrations may be used by the UT Dallas community to promote campus spirit. The Temoc illustration is available in three color variations: orange and blue, white and orange or black and white.

Comets Inercollegiate Athletics Logo

The Comets logos are the registered athletic logos of the University. They are used primarily in association with athletic uniforms, posters, websites, events and on promotional items. Comets logos should not be used in place of the UTD or UT Dallas logo or the University wordmark. Comets primary colors are flame orange (PMS 159) and eco green (PMS 348). These logos may also be used in the University’s secondary color palette, neutrals or tone-on-tone for promotional items.

UTD Legacy Logo

The UTD legacy logo was created in 1971 by UT Dallas’ first president, Dr. Bryce Jordan. In addition to the color orange that is required by UT System, Dr. Jordan selected green as the complementary color. The legacy logo should be restricted to referencing the history of the University and can be accessed through the UT Dallas photo library (NetID login required).

University Seal

The seal of The University of Texas at Dallas represents the highest authority of the University. It is a symbol of institutional guarantee and is reserved for the most solemn purposes of the University, generally associated with presidential communication and the conferral of degrees and academic honors. It may not be used decoratively on disposable items. A better option in lieu of the seal is the UTD Emblem. Questions about using the seal should be directed to the Office of Communications at [email protected].

Other Institutional Branding

Centers and Institutes may apply for consideration of a customized logo based on the following minimum qualifications:

  • The primary mission and focus of the Center is related to clinical research and/or patient care.
  • A significant portion of the Center’s operational expenses are covered by privately raised external resources, grants and/or revenues produced through services provided by the Center.

Centers qualifying for an exception to logo brand standards must receive approval prior to implementing logo design. Requests for logo development should be forwarded to [email protected].

When using an independent Center logo, it is necessary to acknowledge an association with and include a prominent reference to The University of Texas at Dallas.
