Spring 2009 Doctoral Hooding Ceremony
May 14
(1 - 4 p.m.)
(1 - 4 p.m.)
As the name implies, the occasion will involve hooding the doctoral candidates to signify their success in completing the requirements of their specific graduate program. The hooding will officially recognize their passage from being our students to being faculty colleagues. Each doctoral candidate will invite a UT Dallas faculty member (normally the supervising professor) to assist the Dean of Graduate Studies in the hooding.
The ceremony will be similar to a graduation in that faculty and students are dressed in academic attire. However, they will not receive their diplomas at the hooding ceremony. The diplomas will be given at the commencement ceremonies for each school.
A reception hosted by President Daniel will be held following the ceremony.
