The University of Texas at Dallas presents Best of Broadway II, a concert filled with choral and musical numbers from Broadway shows. The concerts will take place in the University Theatre on November 6 at 8 p.m. with additional shows on Saturday, November 7 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Admission is free, with a $5 donation suggested. All proceeds will go to the Arts and Humanities Scholarship Fund.

Highlighting the music of some of Broadway’s most beloved shows, the concerts will feature songs and choruses from A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum; You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown; Urinetown; South Pacific; Aida and Avenue Q. The UT Dallas Chamber Singers and students from Musical Theatre Workshop, directed by Associate Dean Kathryn Evans, perform in a family-friendly show for all ages.

The UT Dallas Chamber Singers is a performing ensemble of 20-24 singers. The repertoire for the ensemble is selected from a broad range of chamber vocal literature, including both sacred and secular music spanning the Renaissance to the contemporary periods of music history and modern jazz arrangements. The ensemble performs regularly on campus, including performances at Best of Broadway, the Renaissance Faire, the Annual Holiday Sing during the fall semester, and in concert as a Jazz Singers Ensemble in the spring semester. The UT Dallas Chamber Singers collaborate with many other ensembles on campus, including the Jazz Ensemble, Guitar Ensemble and Dance Ensemble. They also perform on the Fall and Spring Arts Festivals every semester. In the spring, the Chamber Singers join the UT Dallas Community Chorale for a choral concert of large works with orchestra. Past concerts have included "A Tribute to the Beatles," “Best of Broadway," "Something Wicked This Way Comes," "Over the Rainbow" A Tribute to Harold Arlen," "A Tribute to the Manhattan Transfer," "All Mozart Concert," "Swing Thing," "Birds, Beasts and Bugs," "A Victorian Christmas," and "A Celebration of Monteverdi."

*All proceeds will go to the Arts and Humanities Scholarship Fund.

Please Note: The UT Dallas campus is undergoing a significant amount of construction. Guests are advised to visit our campus map for updated route, construction, and parking information.
