Location:
Davidson Auditorium in the School of Management
Davidson Auditorium in the School of Management
This event will bring together partners committed to building strong, viable neighborhoods in the Dallas/Fort Worth region to hear innovators in this arena discuss what works and what doesn’t, and envision how we plan for the future based on what we know today.
Cost is $15. Students attend free.
On Saturday, a hands-on, “how to” community development workshop will be offered, which will include a tour via bus to some of the revitalized areas in Dallas. The tour will be spearheaded by Mr. Brown’s Building Communities Workshop – a 501(c)3 that focuses on empowerment through community involvement in design - and also some neighborhoods in which Mr. Salazar’s firm - McCormack, Baron & Salazar – will be working. After a boxed lunch at the offices of the Institute for Urban Policy Research in southern Dallas (near Fair Park), participants will divide into small groups for discussion. The day will conclude with a tour at the Center for Architecture. Saturday’s workshop will provide AICP-CM credit to members of APA and will be limited to 50 participants. Participants will be charged $50 to attend.
Please Note: The UT Dallas campus is undergoing a significant amount of construction. Guests are advised to visit our campus map for updated route, construction, and parking information.
