GLEMBA is honored to have Roger D. Linquist, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of MetroPCS Communications, Inc., as our next speaker.
Roger Linquist is a founder, CEO, president and chairman of MetroPCS, an FCC license holder covering 145 million populations in the U.S. Mr. Linquist’s cellular telephone business was derived from experience as CEO of PacTel Personal Communications (spun out from Pacific Telesis as Air Touch) and before that as CEO of Communications Industries.
Prior to MetroPCS, Mr. Linquist successfully founded and developed PageMart (renamed Weblink), a company that built one of the largest nationwide two-way messaging networks. Previous experience includes management consulting with McKinsey & Company and management positions at Texas Instruments Central Research Laboratory.
Mr. Linquist’s educational background includes a BSME and an MSME from Purdue University’s Rocket Propulsion Center and an MBA from Northwestern University.
Mr. Linquist was the recipient of the 2011 national Ernst & Young, “Entrepreneur Award” for media, entertainment and communications.
