Campbell McGrath has authored nine collections of poetry, a play and a libretto for a video opera.  He has received Academy of American Poets Award in 1984, 1985 and 1987; a Pushcart Prize in 1992; a Ploughshares Cohen Award in 1997; and a Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award in 1997.  McGrath was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1998, a Wiier Bynner Fellowship from the Library of Congress in 1999 and a MacArthur Fellowship in 1999.  In 2011, he was named a Fellow of United States Artists.  McGrath teaches English and creative writing at Florida International University, where he has earned two teaching awards (Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching and Teaching Incentive Plan Award).
