As business leaders, understanding the value of tangible assets and intellectual property is a key business imperative. The most important decisions business leaders make on a daily basis involve the assessment of value. Should I make that acquisition? Should I go forward with that divestiture? Should I launch that new product? Should I do an IPO? Should I outsource that aspect of my business? These are just a few. This program will cover some basics of valuation and the importance of valuation in business today.
David W. Swiney is a Principal in the KPMG Forensic practice with more than 20 years of dispute advisory and investigations experience. He has significant experience involving several hundred dispute matters and has testified to his findings in Federal, State, and Bankruptcy Courts and Arbitration. He is an Accredited Valuation Analyst and a Certified Fraud Examiner.
David has assisted in all phases of dispute avoidance/resolution including discovery, claim preparation and review, the preparation of damage models, development of testimony and trial exhibit preparation, among others. He has also performed numerous financial and fraud related investigations. Mr. Swiney has performed his services in a variety of industries.
