Author Tony Meale will explain how aspiring writers can break into the authoring profession, strive to see their work published, and market and promote their product.
Sports journalist and author Tony Meale has written for numerous outlets, including MLB.com, MaxPreps and the Cincinnati Enquirer. He resigned from his newspaper job in July 2011 at the age of 26 to write a book – his first – on what he considers the greatest sports story never told. Less than one year later, he published The Chosen Ones: The Team That Beat LeBron, a behind-the-scenes account of the only Ohio prep basketball team to ever beat LeBron James.
The founder of Press Box Publishing LLC, Meale, who provides syndicated NFL content for CBS Local and is heavily involved in fantasy sports writing, has a master’s in journalism from Ohio University, where he wrote his thesis on racial stereotyping among men’s and women’s college basketball analysts. A Cincinnati native, he studied English and writing at Saint Louis University and has been recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists for outstanding work.
