In this ChessFest event presented by the UT Dallas Chess Program and Eugene McDermott Library, the award-winning documentary Brooklyn Castle will be shown and will also feature special guest Katie Dellamaggiore, who produced and directed the movie about chess team members from an intermediate school in Brooklyn, N.Y. and their challenges and triumphs on and off the chessboard. Brooklyn Castle is Dellamaggiore's directional debut and is one of the best-reviewed films of 2012 according to Rotten Tomatoes. It is also a NAACP Image Awards nominee. The film debuted at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas.
