You know research, we know industrial contracts – together we can make a beautiful team. Let’s get together to discuss how best to protect your interests while conducting research projects with industry. This training will break down the legal terms and conditions of a Sponsored Research Agreement (SRA) and outline how they affect the Principal Investigator (PI), the research program, and the data and results of the research itself. Working with Industry and working with federal or state agencies are very different beasts. The Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) will discuss what PIs can expect in an industrial SRA and how UTD and UT System policies are reflected in our template agreement. The Office of Technology Commercialization (OTC) will also discuss the disclosure process and the importance of understanding how to protect your intellectual property when reading and agreeing with terms and conditions of an SRA.
There is no need to register, but if you have any questions, please call the Office of Sponsored Projects at x2313.
