Dallas VA Research Corporation (DVARC),is a private, non-profit, research corporation founded to administer Veterans Affairs-approved research and education projects. Its mission is to support research for the benefit of veterans. DVARC oversees more than 300 active research projects being done by more than 90 investigators in areas such as vascular disease, neurology, PTSD, diabetes and substance dependence. They also manage research administration, human subject protection, compliance and training. Beyond medical care, the DVARC coordinates programs to find the best way to assist veterans with disabilities to return to employment and projects which target the causes of homelessness. Executive Director and CEO Sue E. Linder-Linsley and Associate Chief of Staff for Research and Development James LePage will discuss the specifics of the DVARC research goals and how UT Dallas researchers can work with them to collaborate on a variety of research projects.
