Distinguished Lecture: 2013-2014: Dr. Pramod Khargonekar Contemporary Issues in Engineering Research and Education A View from NSF

This talk is aimed at stimulating a conversation about fundamental engineering research and contemporary engineering education challenges. Taking a perspective from the Engineering Directorate at the National Science Foundation, I will begin with a brief introduction of the Engineering Directorate. In this context, I will discuss major trends and novel programmatic directions. I will end with a discussion of the key strategic issues in advancing the frontiers, strengthening the innovation ecosystem and addressing the critical challenges in engineering education.
