Chemistry Seminar - Synthesis, Decoration, and Catalytic Activity of Functional Metal-Organic Framework Materials
Friday, Apr 25
12 p.m. - 1 p.m. Location: SLC 2.303

Spring 2014 Chemistry Seminar Series

Dr Omar Farha from Northwestern University will be our speaker this Friday, Apr 25 2014.

The title of his talk is "Synthesis, Decoration, and Catalytic Activity of Functional Metal-Organic Framework Materials"

Abstract: Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) are an intriguing class of hybrid materials that are built by assembling metal centers with organic linkers. MOFs have exquisite properties which include chemical tunability, uniform channels
and cavities, and have large internal surface areas. MOFs have shown promise in a wide range of applications ranging from gas storage to drug delivery. This presentation will highlight recent advances in MOF synthesis and catalytic activity for DoD applications.
