4 p.m. - 5 p.m. Location: CN 1.112
Dr. Bruce Beutler, a distinguished researcher who won the Nobel Prize in 2011 for his pioneering discoveries about the immune system, will speak about the trajectory of his extraordinary career in biomedical science on March 20 on the UT Dallas campus.
Dr. Beutler's talk will be geared toward undergraduates, with the aim of engaging and inspiring university students who are interested in pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. By showcasing a role model who exemplifies the scientific explorer, we hope to encourage students to pursue graduate education in STEM fields. Armed with advanced degrees, this next generation will not only help ensure a vibrant new wave of explorers and scientific discoveries, but also will contribute to critical needs in the work force.
