This workshop is only for international students who will fill out the 8843 form. Please read important information below:
If you are an international student who DID NOT receive U.S. Source Income (wages, scholarships, housing stipends, cash awards, etc.), but were present in the United States more than 30 days in 2013, you will need fill out an 8843 form. The 8843 form is located on the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) website. The ISSO will hold an informational workshop to help you fill out this form.
If you DID receive U.S. Source Income (wages, scholarships, housing stipends, cash awards, etc.), you must file a U.S. tax form (most likely a 1040-NR). This workshop will not be able to help you with this form. UT Dallas has purchased a software package to help you.
