Deterministic Ordinary Differential Equation Models in Population Ecology, with special reference to Indirect Mutualism
An important feature of some models of ecological communities is that of persistence (co-existence) i.e. the survival of all the populations in the community, as opposed to the extinction of some of them. In this talk we shall discuss the importance of mutualistic associations, with special reference to indirect mutualism, in establishing the existence of all the species in the system. We shall confine our discussion to three dimensional models only, involving predation or competition.
