Neuroscience Seminar - Hippocampal Reactivation and Circuit-Level Mnemonic Mechanisms

Dr. Brad Pfeiffer is speaking.

Dr. Brad Pfeiffer did his PhD with Dr. Kimberly Huber at UTSW, then did a postdoc at Johns Hopkins in the lab of Dr. David Foster. He is now an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neuroscience at UTSW. Brad studies hippocampal place cells and finds that these cells participate in memory retrieval mechanisms that guide the rat’s future behavior. He will also speak about his ongoing work to identify a functional connectome within the hippocampus in vivo and to examine how patterns of connectivity impact how experience can modify connection patterns to facilitate memory storage/retrieval.
