9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Location: Blackstone Launchpad
Comet Accelerator is a ten-week, experiential program that pulls faculty, staff, and current students into an environment that incubates ideas and engages prospective customers in preparation for the launch of a new business concept.
The UT Dallas Comet Accelerator program is a ten-week program will work hands on with up to 20 student teams who are pursuing the launch of a new business concept. The program is offered twice annually on Friday mornings on campus in the Blackstone LaunchPad building (in Parking Structure 3 between Einstein Bagels and IHOP) from 9-12 a.m. for 10 weeks in the fall and spring.
On the final day of class (12/1/17), teams will give a final 10-minute pitch to a panel of guest judges. One winning team will be chosen for a $1,000 cash prize to go towards their venture. In order to qualify for the final pitch, all teams must have at least one representative present at all prior class meetings. Teams that have participated in the past cannot apply and participate again with the same concept/business idea. Teams or an individual may, however, apply with a different business concept. Registration is open to current UTD students only.
If your team/concept is accepted into the Fall 2017 Comet Accelerator, this will greatly help your concept/team’s chances of making it to the Fall 2017 Business Idea Competition (BIC) semi-final round (should you apply).
