Callier Parents' Association (CPA)

Welcome to the Callier Parents' Association (CPA).

By enrolling your child in the Callier Child Development Program, you are automatically a member. CPA is a social organization that strives to promote a feeling of community among our children and parents and acts as a conduit between our teachers and parents. We have several events throughout the year and would love you and your child’s participation in social and fundraising events. We meet once a month to review any concerns or questions parents might have and to discuss upcoming events and Callier news from the administration. We hope you will volunteer and be an active member of your child’s school. Every minute helps! We will email links to volunteer in our Callier e-news summary every month, and occasionally, reminder e-mails will be sent the week before each event.

CPA Social Events

CPA social events are run by the CPA and do not include the teacher-run events like Family Feast or the Halloween Parade.

CPA Picnic: September 10, 2016 | Scottish Rite Park| 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

On Saturday, September 10, we gather for a wonderful play date in the sun and shade of Scottish Rite Park. Families bring their own picnic lunch, and the CPA sponsors lunch for teachers and administrators who attend. It is a great way to see your little ones playing with their friends!

Winter Wonderland: December 13, 2016

One of our most popular events, Winter Wonderland is a school-wide celebration of all things winter. We have craft and activity tables representing winter holidays across many cultures: Winter Solstice, Chanukah, Christmas, Divali, Las Posadas, Dongzhi, Kwanzaa, and other “snowy” activities. We even offer free pictures with Santa! It really is so much fun.

Week of the Young Child - Concert with Lizza Connor: April 24 - 28, 2017

The teachers and administrators run Week of the Young Child. Every year they do an amazing job creating new ways to celebrate the milestones, challenges and triumphs of childhood.

International Food Festival: March 3, 2017

Another of our most popular events, the International Food Festival is a combination of three of our favorite things: the multi-cultural aspect of our families, whose parents often come from around the world; the delicious food they make; and music! It is a potluck dinner. Bring your favorite kid-friendly dish and be amazed as your child tries something you never thought he or she would. Relax and chat with other parents, while your little ones run off all that yummy food in the gym.

Teacher Appreciation Day: May 12, 2017

To show our teachers our love and thanks, we organize a luncheon for them and give them gift cards to a popular store. Also during the week, we give them extra hugs, flowers from our gardens or whatever you and your child want to do to show your love!

Callier Parents' Association Fundraising Events

The money raised from fundraising events goes directly to keeping our school in the excellence category. Playground equipment, new cubbies and lockers, teacher development to keep their strategies current, field trip funding and events all come from fundraising. Your help is appreciated, whether it is time, money or items!

Book Fair: October 13, 2016

The Scholastic Book Fair is a great way to stock up on your child's favorite books, enhance the supply of books in the classroom and raise funds for CPA. Please join us! We need help setting up, running the till and cleaning up. Please sign up through VolunteerSpot.

Silent Auction: April 7, 2017

The silent auction is our major fundraiser for the school. Parents request donations from area and national businesses and ask the teachers to assemble scrap books and class art projects, as well as donate their precious time in fun one-on-one activities with our kids. Parents may preview items and bid online. Then, parents come to the silent auction to win fabulous things which support their child’s education. Last year, we had an amazing response with our highest attendance yet, and it was a blast!
