Child Development Program

The Callier Child Development Program is an active, nurturing, learning environment for infants through kindergarten age children.

Experiences are offered in a stimulating, creative atmosphere where curiosity, exploration and discovery are facilitated by a supportive staff-to-child ratio that is based on optimal guidelines for each age group.

Program Goals

To provide for all aspects of a child’s developmental needs, including communication and language skills, physical abilities, emotional and social growth and cognitive development.
To emphasize learning as a social process that stresses exploration and interaction with adults, other children and materials.
To emphasize learning as an active process, using experiences that are concrete, real and relevant to the lives of young children.
To foster an environment in which children have an opportunity to communicate, play and develop friendships with children whose interests, abilities, levels of hearing and/or methods of communication may be different than their own.

Curriculum

Curriculum is based on High/Scope and Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for Kindergarten. Ongoing portfolio is documented using the High/Scope Child Observation Record. Teachers with training in early child development and early childhood education rotate with their classes through the infant/toddler years and again through three years of preschool.

Schedule

Callier is a year-round program with age-appropriate daily schedules for all children.

A typical preschool day consists of:

7:30 a.m.	Arrival and quiet activities
8:15 a.m	Breakfast
9:15 a.m	Outside play
9:45 a.m	Small group
10 a.m.	Learning centers
11 a.m.	Music and movement
11:30 a.m	Lunch
Noon	Outside play
1 p.m.	Nap
3 p.m	Wake up for afternoon snack
3:30 p.m	Afternoon activities until pick up
6:30 p.m	Callier closes

Monthly Tuition Rates for 2012-2013

Tuition is billed as 12 equal payments, due at the beginning of each month, based on the child’s age as of Sept.1. Tuition for older siblings is discounted 10 percent.

Enrollment security deposit	One month tuition
Nonrefundable prior to start date. Applied to last month attended based on 30 days written notice of withdrawal.

Personal care supply fee	$25
At start and annually in August

Field trip admission	Based on cost of scheduled events
