FM System Consultations/Evaluations

Speech-Language Therapy
- Individualized speech-language therapy, including auditory-verbal therapy.
- Therapy plans, schedules and goals are determined for each child’s unique needs.
Group Therapy

CLAP (Cochlear implant Language Advancement Program)
CLAP is a group program for children ages 18 months to 3 years with cochlear implants.
The program:
- Supplements individual aural (re)habilitation and speech-language therapy.
- Focuses on increasing listening, language and speech skills without the use of visual communication.
- Includes a weekly parent training session.
Parental involvement is vital in the development of a child’s listening, language and speech skills. That’s why CLAP includes a weekly parent training session. Parent sessions take place one time per week.

Success with Auditory Therapy (SWAT)
- Designed for children who have received their cochlear implant within the last year.
- Provides the family with information and expectations for auditory skill development.
- Appointments are scheduled in conjunction with the child’s audiological and MAPping appointments.
- The program is supplemental and should not take the place of weekly speech-language therapy with a speech-language pathologist.
School Visits
- Team members may visit your child’s school personnel and educate them about cochlear implants and your child’s individual needs.
