Children enrolled in the UT Dallas Callier Center’s child development program have the benefit of using new computers donated by IBM.
Children who are deaf or hard of hearing use the computers to access sign language software that helps them expand their vocabulary and connect sign language to the written word. Students who are not deaf or hard of hearing also benefit from using the software to learn new sign language skills.

In January 2007, Jordan was a healthy, active 21-month-old little boy who enjoyed going to Kindermusik classes and playing with toys. Without warning, he became very sick and subsequently lost his ability to hear.
Cochlear implants and the Callier Center speech therapy program have given Jordan a second chance to connect with the hearing world.
