"I have been working in the Montessori community for 5 years doing a variety of tasks which include: human relations, public relations, admissions, training & orientations for staff & families, budgeting, fundraising, assessment of policies/procedures, facility compliance, volunteering and is currently serving as a Walk Chair for the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network."
Shannon stated that her greatest accomplishment, by age 25, was when the State of Texas recognized her as being "director certified" which allows her to become the Head of School or "director" of any childcare facility in the state.
Shannon advises that " individuals with work experience and a great education are the most sought after employees. Throughout college, I worked in my chosen field and was able to complete two work internships through the UT Dallas Career Center. These internships gave my employer an avenue to utilize my creativity on new and challenging projects. I've gained personal and professional experience that I find invaluable."
Shannon credits the UT Dallas Career Center with "helping to define my educational goals as they related to my career choice. With my internship coordinator and workplace supervisor, we were able to come up with challenging and creative projects that propelled my workplace efficacy."
