Become a Career Mentor
Mentoring students is a great way for you to make a significant difference in the on-going development and success of current students.
You set your mentor activity as to how the student will contact you. Students who are interested in connecting with a Career Mentor will be connected to you by one of the Career Counselors. If interested in becoming a mentor, you will need to register as an Employer Contact within the CareerWorks system. Send a request to firstname.lastname@example.org or contact the Recruiting Coordinator by phone 972-883-2943.
The following are various types of Mentor Program activities, beyond an email or phone call, in which you can be involved:
You coordinate the method and time to meet with students for them to explore various career fields, industries or options within a particular organization.
You coordinate dates for students to spend time shadowing you as you go about your work or simply to visit your facility for a tour and discussion about various career fields within your organization. In addition, you may choose to participate in our formal Externship/Job Shadowing Program held every March.
