On Campus Student Employment and CPT Reminder
The following statements apply to all F-1 visa students:
- Students are limited to one experience (i.e. CPT internship, job, etc.) at a time and one experience per semester.
- Students cannot hold both an on campus job and a Curricular Practical Training (CPT) internship at the same time. F-1 student workers who want to pursue CPT must end their current student worker assignment.
- Students must receive CPT authorization before starting their internship employment. F-1 visa students can contact ISSO for more information regarding CPT. https://isso.utdallas.edu/employment-and-internships/is-employment/cpt/

Reminder: On-Campus Employment Working Hours
All student workers are limited to working no more than 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semester.
This is especially important to be mindful of for International student employees. If an international student were to work more than 20 hours in a week, there are severe consequences which include losing visa status. Please ensure that a student assistant is never scheduled to work more than 20 hours during the Fall and Spring semesters; therefore, the student is not entering more than 20 hours on their timesheet.
All international students are to see the ISSO for any/all directives related to allowed activities that affect their visa. More information can be found on the ISSO office website here: https://isso.utdallas.edu/employment-and-internships/is-employment/.

FLUID Timesheet Update & How To’s
As many of you already know, the University has recently transitioned technology to the FLUID UX for Peoplesoft. This highly anticipated upgrade has made it easier to visually locate information in the form of “tiles” that can reduce the number of sequential menus required for navigating the Galaxy Dashboard.
As with any new technology comes a few bumps in the road, so the Office of Student Employment has compiled the following guides for reference and use in the case that you are experiencing issues. Please note, the situation continues to evolve as students are enrolled as new time reporters so access may vary across campus/departments, but this general guidance should be of some assistance.
