Student Employees of the Year
Nomination Process
Eligible Students
- All undergraduate and graduate students who are in non-benefit-eligible student jobs (class code 9996 or 9997) are eligible to be nominated.
- Must have been employed for a minimum of 3 months full-time (working 20 hours per week) or 6 months part-time (working at least 10 hours per week) between July 1 (of previous year) and June 30 ( of current year) (anticipated). This is equivalent to 240 working hours during the academic year.
- Resident Advisors, Research Assistants, Teaching Assistants and students employed under a classification code other than 9996 or 9997 are NOT eligible for nomination.
Selection Criteria
Student employees will be judged on the following, equally-weighted criteria:
- Reliability
- Quality of Work
- Initiative
- Attitude
- Professionalism
- Uniqueness of Contribution
Nominations
- Nominations will only be accepted from faculty and staff -The Nomination Form and Nomination Letter will be accepted between the dates of January - February (2010 dates will be posted as soon as determined). Make the Nomination Letter as comprehensive as possible in order to give your nominee the best chance to win this award. All nominations will be kept confidential. Please note: Only one nomination letter per nominee will be submitted to the judges.
Employers must submit the The Nomination Form and Nomination Letter by 5:00 p.m., of deadline date. Nominations received after this deadline will not be considered by the judging committee.
