Student Employees of the Year
University Recognition
Our student employees provide a valuable service to us, and we want to show appreciation to the student workers on campus. The Career Center coordinates the annual Student Employee of the Year Program, including a reception to honor all student employees at the University. The Student Employee of the Year award presentation and reception take place during the first week of April, in conjunction with the National Student Employment Association (NSEA) Student Employment Week. The Career Center also encourages each department to honor their own student employees throughout that week in appreciation of their contributions to the department.
Award Eligibility
The Student Employee of the Year Award is conducted according to the rules and regulations of the National Student Employment Association (NSEA) and the Southern Association of Student Employment Administrators (SASEA). All undergraduate and graduate students who are in non-benefit-eligible student jobs (class code 9997) are eligible to be nominated for the Student Employee of the Year Award. Research and Teaching Assistants are not eligible. The award is decided by an impartial committee of judges representing a cross-section of the departments who hire student employees.

Students must have been employed for a minimum of 3 months full-time or 6 months part-time between July 1 and June 30 of the previous year. This is equivalent to 240 working hours during that period of time.

- Reliability
