On-Campus Offer Letters
In the fall of 2004, procedures changed for international students to obtain a Social Security number (or students who have lost their Social Security card). One of the required documents became the Proof of an Offer of Employment. In order to expedite the production of this document, the International Student Services Office partnered with the Career Center to create several standard offer letters.
To submit an On-Campus Employment Offer Letter for students on F-1 visas to the Career Center:
- the hiring supervisor should complete the appropriate Offer Letter online from the list below (this letter can easily be completed online by the hiring supervisor, hand written letters are discouraged)
- print the Offer Letter
- the supervisor must sign and date the letter
- deliver the letter to the UT Dallas Career Center (MC 1.312) to obtain the appropriate authorized signature (the student can "walk" the letter over or it can be placed in campus mail to MC16)
- the authorized letter must be taken to the International Student Services Office to then obtain the necessary paperwork for the Social Security Administration.
