On-Campus Offer Letters
In the fall of 2004, procedures changed for international students to obtain a Social Security number (or students who have lost their Social Security card). One of the required documents became the Proof of an Offer of Employment. In order to expedite the production of this document, the International Student Services Office partnered with the Career Center to create several standard offer letters.
To submit an On-Campus Employment Offer Letter for students on F-1 visas to the Career Center, complete the appropriate Offer Letter from the list below (this letter must be completed online by the hiring supervisor, a hand-written letter will not be accepted), print the Offer Letter. The supervisor must sign and date the letter, and return the letter to the UT Dallas Career Center (MC 1.312) to obtain the appropriate signature. The letter then must be taken to the International Student Services Office to obtain the necessary paperwork for the Social Security Administration. It is the student's responsibility to "walk" the letter and paperwork through the entire process.
