Curated by U.T. Dallas graduate Mary Benedicto, ech_o is an exhibition of video art in which new and old technology unite in a tour de force of pictures, patterns and images. Artists use video cameras and computers as though paintbrushes of yore as electronic equipment become tools for self-expression.

False Space and Time of the Apartment
April 19 - June 3, 2008
Central Track: The University of Texas at Dallas Artists Residency opens its it doors to the public from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, in April 19 with the exhibition “False Space and Time of the Apartment." This inaugural exhibition takes its title from J. G. Ballard’s 1969-novel Love and Napalm: Export U.S.A. As one of the greatest chroniclers of the urban imagination, Ballard gives voice to Central Track’s ambitious momentum and investment in the vast and diverse urban culture of DFW. Taking its cue from the media-scape of Ballard’s novel, False Space and Time of the Apartment at Centraltrak will show art form that is interactive and spatially bold and ambiguous.
