UT Dallas now offers the following degree programs at the Collin Higher Education Center (CHEC) in McKinney:

The CHEC is a convenient new option for students that live in the northern Collin County area. The facility has numerous amenities, including:

  • Free parking
  • Computer labs
  • Secure parking garage
  • Study areas
  • Large student lounge

The UT Dallas programs at the CHEC provide students taking their freshman and sophomore level courses at a community college an easy transition into their junior and senior level courses. In order to enroll in courses at the CHEC, students must first apply and be admitted to the university. Once admitted, students will pay UT Dallas tuition and begin registering for courses offered at the CHEC.

Partnerships for Success

UT Dallas, Collin College, and four other area universities have partnered to bring the undergraduate and graduate degree programs to the new Collin Higher Education Center (CHEC). The partnership was approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board in October 2009 and classes at the CHEC began in January 2010. UT Dallas programs at the CHEC provide students an opportunity to pursue an undergraduate or graduate degree from UT Dallas in Collin County. Students in McKinney have access to UT Dallas resources including electronic library databases, online technical support, career center activities, and scholarship opportunities.
