The Y.W.C.A./UTD Child Care Program can only accept well children. We are depending on you to help us maintain this policy. All children will have an informal health check on arrival to school. Symptoms that are cause for keeping your child home are:  coughing, red eyes, flushed skin, earache, chills, headache, sneezing, skin eruptions, sore throat, fever and cold.

Should a child become ill while in our care, we will contact you immediately. You must pick up your child or arrange for an approved person to pick him/her up immediately upon notification (no exceptions). We will provide isolated care until your child is picked up.

The Y.W.C.A./UTD Insurance Policy which I understand and signed states:

The Y.W.C.A. of Metropolitan Dallas carries accident insurance on all children in our Child Care Program. Our policy covers up to a maximum of $2,500.00 for each occurrence. The maximum coverage for dental expense is $100.00  There is a $25.00 deductible clause included in the policy and parents will therefore be responsible for paying the first $25.00 of each claim.  The Y.W.C.A. does not pay any medical expenses over the limit covered by insurance.

Complete medical information must be provided on the Health Information form and any additional instructions included.

If medication is necessary, please contact the Child Care Director or Lead Teacher to sign written permission and instructions for use. No medication will be administered without written information.

Minor first-aid will be administered for scrapes, cuts, bumps, etc.

If an injured child should need immediate medical emergency treatment, the Child Care Director or other designated individual will take the child to the Plano General Hospital or Richardson/Baylor Medical Center.
