Logos, Trademarks, and Wordmarks

UTD logos, trademarks and wordmarks may be used exclusively for official purposes of The University of Texas at Dallas in the exact manner and color specifications noted below. Graphic representations of the illustrated logos are available to UTD staff and faculty on the web from Web Services.

Wordmark

The official wordmark for The University of Texas at Dallas is:

  • The University of Texas at Dallas
  • THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT DALLAS

The wordmark may be used in any font or color that is harmonious with the design elements of the publication. It may, however, only be used in either “ALL CAPS” or upper and lowercase as noted above. The word “The” should always be included in the wordmark before the word “University.”

The cover page of all publications should always prominently feature the university wordmark as part of the headline: The University of Texas at Dallas.

In text, the university may also be referred to as UTD, following the first reference to the university as The University of Texas at Dallas. The abbreviation U. T. Dallas is also acceptable in text but should not be used as a headline in publications.

The University of Texas System: Always put a space between “U.” and “T.” for U. T. System and the campuses in print publications. When referencing the U. T. System, use “The University of Texas System” on first reference and “the U. T. System” on second reference. It is also correct to refer to “the System” on second reference. “System” should always be capitalized.
