Celebrate the beginning of the academic year
University President Dr. David Daniel invites all incoming freshmen and their families to join him at UT Dallas' annual Freshman Convocation, celebrating the beginning of the academic year and the graduating class of 2011.
Freshman Convocation is produced by UT Dallas for incoming freshman. This year's theme is, "I Was Where You Are Now."

Doors open 7 p.m.
Ceremony at 7:30 p.m. (invitation only)
Carnival at 8:15 p.m. (university only)
Fireworks begin 9 p.m. (open to public)
Entertainment including:
- Fireworks Finale
- Free T-shirt, Frisbee, and Glow-in-the-Dark Bracelet Giveaways
- Refreshments
- Passing of the Mace
- Cheerleaders
- Carnival (Ball Field One south of the Activity Center)
