Luminant Collaborates with Exec Ed
As part of the Naveen Jindal School of Management’s Executive Education division, Corporate Education custom-designs a variety of leadership development programs and initiatives for organizations across the globe. Corporate Education has a strong partnership with electricity provider Luminant, which is part of Energy Future Holdings Corp., formerly TXU Corp. Together, Corporate Education and Luminant designed and developed an eight-day leadership development program for the company.
“We are taking steps to develop our next generation of leaders,” said Mike Williams, vice president of human resources for Luminant. “Our industry is critical to Texas and Luminant is fortunate to have talented leaders who will benefit greatly from this program.”
The program focuses on leadership principles, such as communications skills, diversity and inclusion, business acumen and strategy. “Our design also includes enhancing self-awareness and personal effectiveness, as well as engaging Luminant’s executives as co-facilitators alongside subject matter educators,” said Bethell-Anne Osborne, director of business development for UT Dallas Corporate Education.
The program aims to imbue participants with common values and approaches to leadership—all critical pieces of Luminant’s growth strategy. “Luminant encourages leaders who think outside the box and can serve as coaches to those they lead and manage on a daily basis,” said UT Dallas Executive Education Assistant Dean Tom Henderson. “Corporate Education will help them cultivate those capabilities with specific modules on cutting-edge principles of leadership.”
