The Be Project
The Family Place, The Be Project and the Student Counseling Center continue to work together to provide students with education and opportunities to help make social change in their campus and home communities.
The "Be" from The Be Project is a word that is used quite often ... be nice, be kind, be respectful ... or just Be ... meaning to be calm, at peace, or independent.
The Be Project is an 8 week, peer leadership curriculum addressing: healthy relationships, healthy communication, dating violence, sexual harassment, and sexual assault. Participants can gain the skills to advocate for healthy relationships and talk with peers about unhealthy relationships.
If you would like to participate in the next The Be Project training in the fall semester, you can contact Alexis Edwards of The Family Place at 972-243-1611 ext. 11 or the Student Counseling Center at 972-883-2575.
