Outreach and Educational Programming
We can provide workshops and presentations for your classes, residence halls, or student/campus organizations.
The UT Dallas Student Counseling Center offers a variety of outreach services to the university community with the goal of creating and maintaining a healthy, psychologically-minded student population. Our programming is geared towards primary prevention of mental illness, enhancement of academic success, and personal and social empowerment through awareness and knowledge. The SCC also works to integrate multicultural and developmental perspectives into our programming to be more inclusive and relevant to all students. As an extension of our clinical services, outreach programming expands the impact of the SCC beyond counseling into the everyday lives of all students. By reaching out to large amounts of students in short amounts of time, and promoting knowledge and awareness to students who might otherwise not present in counseling, we help to ensure our mission of providing psychological services to as many students as possible.
We provide presentations for your classes, residence halls, or student/campus organizations. Topics typically include but are not limited to:
- Stress Management
- Time Management
- Diversity & Multicultural Issues
- Conflict Resolution
- Healthy Relationships
- Introduction to the Student Counseling Center
- How to help students in distress
If you need a presentation that is not listed above, we can likely accommodate other requests depending on the topic and interest areas of staff members.
Requests for presentations must be made at least three weeks in advance to allow ample time for preparation. Please note that depending on our clinical demand at the time of a request, it is possible that we will be unable to provide a presentation. However, we will do our best to accommodate!
