Eligibility: All current benefit-eligible faculty and staff may purchase the DART Transit Pass. All Transit Pass applicants and users are required to hold a valid UT Dallas Comet Card.

Ownership and Responsibility: Transit Passes issued by The University of Texas at Dallas are the property of the University. Passes must be surrendered on demand of authorized University staff in the event of misuse, including use by any individual other than the registered pass holder. Passes may be electronically disabled by authorized representatives of DART. The Transit Pass Program and use of the passes are governed by all applicable UT Dallas rules and regulations.

Application and Issuance: The Transit Pass is provided by UT Dallas to the holder. Faculty and staff are able to purchase a 2013 Transit Pass at the Bursar's office (SSB2.300). Bring your completed application form, Comet Card and full payment in cash, check, credit or debit card. Your pass will be printed and given to you at the Bursar's window. Duration: The Transit Pass is issued annually and is valid for the calendar year.

Missing or Lost Transit Passes: Lost or missing passes must be reported to UT Dallas Parking and Transportation Services. Lost or missing cards reported to DART will be electronically disabled. Recovered cards are to be surrendered to Parking and Transportation Services in person or by campus mail (Mail Station SSB21). The loss of three cards may result in expulsion from the program.

Reissue of Lost or Stolen Transit Passes: UT Dallas will reissue a Local Annual Transit Pass to an employee after receiving a request in writing and the request is accompanied by the required reissue fee and application. The fee for reissuing a lost or stolen Annual Transit Pass will be UT Dallas' cost of $600. It may be pro-rated based on the month in which the pass was lost or stolen. Employees should check to see if lost passes have been turned in to the DART Lost and Found, University Police Lost and Found or Parking and Transportation Services. Reissue fees are not refundable under any circumstances.

Unauthorized Use Of Transit Pass: Unauthorized use of a Transit Pass includes but is not limited to duplication or alteration of a pass or the use of a pass by any person other than the participating employee to whom it was issued.  A blank ID is not valid on the DART system and will be confiscated.   DART retains the right to confiscate Transit Passes for unauthorized use and to pursue claims, demands, or lawsuits against, or seek prosecution of, any person for unauthorized use of a Transit Pass.   DART agrees not to pursue any such claims, demands, or lawsuits against the employer for unauthorized use of a Transit Pass unless such unauthorized use results from the intentional acts, gross negligence or willful misconduct of the employer.
