Transit Pass Program

Terms & Conditions

Eligibility All current faculty, staff, and enrolled students are eligible to apply for the DART Transit Pass. All applicants are required to hold a valid UT-Dallas Comet Card. Transit Passes are issued at the discretion of the University of Texas at Dallas. Students must be enrolled for classes at the University, not simply registered, in order to receive the Transit Pass.

Ownership and Responsibility DART Transit Passes issued by the University of Texas at Dallas are the property of the University. Passes must be surrendered on demand of authorized University staff in the event of misuse, including use by any individual other than the registered pass holder. Passes may be electronically disabled by authorized representatives of DART. The Transit Pass Program and use of the Passes are governed by all applicable UT-Dallas rules and regulations.

Application and Issuance The Transit Pass is provided by UT-Dallas at no cost to the holder and is issued by the UT-Dallas Police Department. Individuals must apply for the Pass using the on-line application form. Applicants must hold a valid Comet Card prior to application for the Transit Pass. Passes are individually issued with the holder's photograph and name printed on the card. Passes may be picked up at the Comet Center, typically within one week of application. Proper identification must be presented by the Pass holder.

Term The DART Transit Pass is issued annually and is valid for the calendar year.

Missing and Lost Passes Lost or missing Passes may be reported to the UT-Dallas Police Department through the on-line application form, and a replacement card may be requested at the same time. Lost or missing cards are reported to DART and will be electronically disabled. Found cards are to be surrendered to the Police Department in person or by campus mail. The loss of two cards by any participant will result in a service charge of $25 for the second replacement card. The loss of three cards may result in expulsion from the Program.
