Welcome to the homepage of the UT Dallas Debate Team, one of the nation's most up-and-coming young debate squads. The UT Dallas Debate Team was established in the Fall of 1996, when it “Brady Lee Garrison Newcomer Sweepstake Award.” Since then the team has built a tradition of success and quickly become one of the nation’s most recognized new squads. UT Dallas Debate has just concluded its most successful year, finishing with a semi-final appearance in the Cross Examination Debate Association National Tournament and an appearance in the Double Octa-Finals of the National Debate Tournament.
The UT Dallas Debate Team offers competitive two-person policy debate and scholarships to experienced and exceptional high school debaters.

The UT Dallas debate team won CEDA's "Brady Lee Garrison Newcomer Sweepstakes Award" in Spring 1997. It has continued to grow into a nationally known and respected college debate team ever since then. The UT Dallas Debate Team also earned its first qualification for the National Debate Tournament in Spring 2004 and has qualified for the NDT every subsequent year.
The Comet Debate Institute is UT Dallas Debate's summer high school debate institute and a chance to work with UT Dallas' nationally recognized debaters and staff.
