Students should submit the following materials:
- Essay (no more than 250 words). Please address the following:
What role will the arts play in your education? What contribution do you expect
to make to the arts program at UTD? What courses will you enroll in as a part
of this contribution?
- Letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor who
is familiar with your work.
- Work sample. Materials will not be returned.
Music: cassette tape or CD, no more than 10 minutes in length, plus
musical score, if applicable;
Theatre and Dance: Videotape, no more than 10 minutes in
length, VHS or DVD format;
Visual Arts: 3-4 slides or 6-8 electronic image files (TIFF or PSD) on a CD; no portfolios please;
Creative Writing: a poem, short story or excerpt of a longer
work, no more than 5 pages. Submitted samples longer than the above will be
examined from the beginning of the sample, at the committee's discretion.
