The world of European Historical Studies opens an enormous trove of history for students to explore. From the intensity of the Crusades that defined Christendom and Islam to the elements that have shaped Modern Europe, European History courses will give students the tools they need to comprehend complex issues, themes and ideas.

Students will find a wide selection of courses from which they may pursue their particular interests. Several courses in Medieval study are offered. Early Modern Europe is scrutinized, and nineteenth and twentieth-century concerns are examined. Some of the courses focus on the social and political thought of European society. Others reflect the historical roots of culture and society. Whatever the focus, courses are designed to offer the student an opportunity to become well grounded in the history of Europe.
