The painting program at the University of Texas at Dallas is designed to support students at all skill levels. The curriculum offers foundation courses designed to develop skills and introduce concepts within the visual language as well as more advanced courses designed to explore issues in contemporary painting. The program offers students exposure to recent theoretical and technical applications of art, while encouraging students to explore personal concerns artistically and a full range of experience from the creation of work and presentation to final installation.

This interdisciplinary program offers students the ability to integrate elements from multiple disciplines including art history, digital imaging, photography, creative writing and performance. This allows students to develop their skills in an open, experimental atmosphere while interrelating with an active faculty as a vital resource.

Explore the creative possibility of contemporary painting in the School of Arts and Performance. Expand your frame of reference and awareness of the current issues in art.
