25 Years of Technology Show & Tell
Leaders from technology giants General Motors, Plexon, Texas Instruments Inc, Tyler Tech and Zyvex Corp. will tell about their products from 25 years ago and predictions for the next 25 years. These companies will also show their facilities later to registered students. Pizza on a first-come, first-served basis.

Raytheon Engineers Day
ECS students will mentor high school students from 12 area districts on an engineering project. Student volunteers needed. Held in Plano

1:30 p.m. – 2: 30 p.m.

Student Ventures: Entrepreneurial Capital Competition
Students will vie for mock project funding from professional venture capitalists in this event modeled after real-world competitions

Thursday

9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Introduce a Girl To Engineering Day event held in Galaxy Rooms
Students from Irma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School will visit our campus for a day of engineering fun. Sponsors include Texas Instruments Inc and UTD’s Carolyn Lipshy Galerstein Women’s Center.

1 p.m. – 2 p.m.
Onsite Zyvex Corp. Tour; Students must be registered to attend

3 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Stump the Profs, TI Auditorium
Professors Nathan Dodge, Gopal Gupta, Rashaunda Henderson, Tamil Lakshman and Mathukumalli Vidyasagar try to prove that they are smarter than an ECS student, hosted by John Hansen. Pizza will be served.

Friday

ECS 25th Anniversary Distinguished Lecture Series
John A. Rogers, founder professor of materials science and engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, will speak on "Semiconductor Nanomaterials for Bio-Integrated Electronics.”

1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Resumania & Elevator Pitches. Professionals will critique resumes, and students get to hone personal pitches. Hallways of ECSS.

 

Saturday

10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Lego Explosion & Beyblade/Striker Challenge
All are welcome to participate in the LEGO, Beyblade and Striker Challenge. Bring your own LEGOS – no more than 1000. Beyblades can be rented for $2. Contact Jacqueline Long at jalong@utdallas.edu. Sponsored by UTD Chapter of NSBE.
