PEP Statement

PROPOSED POLICY STATEMENT – UTD PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE PROGRAMS

“UTD students working on approved, professional experience programs (cooperative education, internships, curricular practical training, service learning, and similar academic/career related work programs) field assignments and when complying with the academic rules and regulations related to that assignment, are recognized as full-time students at The University of Texas at Dallas.”

The following policies, rules, regulations, and procedures will be put into place to support the above statement. 

1. The above statement shall be included in UTD catalogs, bulletins, semester Class Schedules, and other appropriate UTD documents. 

2.  UTD professional experience programs (PEPs) are an integral part of the UTD academic programs.  As such these programs shall be under the control of the UTD schools and academic departments and the schools’ or departments’ regulations and procedures for the operation for these programs.

6.  UTD students are expected to follow the PEP policies and procedures of their UTD academic department or school when hired into positions designated by their employer as PEP field assignments.
