Experiencing Engineering
ABSTRACT:
As demands on engineering education increase, we must ask fundamental questions about how to design effective, efficient, affordable curricula that prepare students for leadership roles in addressing the global technological, economic, and societal challenges of the 21st century. Designing curricula around long-term experiences and compelling authentic contexts - effectively putting experiential education at the core of the curriculum - will enable more effective integration of the growing list of components of an engineering education. This talk will explore the role of experiential education and the themes of context and time to gain efficiency and integrate the curriculum.
