Bradley Wallace
B.S., Computer Science
Next step
Next I will be studying medicine at UT Southwestern Medical School. While this switch off the engineering path might seem odd, I hope to capitalize on my analytical thinking fostered as a computer scientist.
Educational highlights
I have always been fascinated with logic puzzles and the ways things work. Seeking a computer science degree has allowed me to sharpen my problem-solving abilities as well as explore faster, more efficient ways of solving problems.
We live in a world of intersections, and I can take my training in navigating the technological highway with me to any field of my choosing. The ability to adapt to and take advantage of the innovations of today has best prepared me for whatever tomorrow brings.
Long-term plans
I am excited about the potential of science in the health field and look forward to using the newest technologies to improve the delivery of modern medicine.
Final thoughts
My favorite times here have been working with other students passionate about making a difference. I have been able to serve as a student representative for the Housing Committee that planned the new University residence halls, the Senior Send-Off Group that created a new tradition for campus, the Internet Inquiry Committee that looked into new campus wireless possibilities and several other Student Government committees that worked with administrators and students. A handful of other students and I were able to work with the University to create the new nanoscience minor. I never would have expected a student-led initiative to be able to start academic programs in a university – I think it shows UT Dallas’ priorities are in the right place.
