Affiliated Programs |
In support of learning in the community, the School of General
Studies offers a variety of affiliated programs to help prepare
students for college, to provide employment for enrolled students, and to support research on educational issues.
Below is a list of research projects supported by The School of General Studies:
- Greenville ISD/UTD Partnership for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth. Investigates the educational modifications that facilitate educational success for students who are homeless. Project Director: George W. Fair
- McKinney ISD/UTD Partnership for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth. Investigates the educational modifications that facilitate educational success for students who are homeless. Project Director: George W. Fair
- Sherman ISD/UTD Partnership for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth. Investigates the educational modifications that facilitate educational success for students who are homeless. Project Director: George W. Fair
- Rainbow Days/UTD Kids University. Investigates summer activities that provide educational enrichment for elementary and middle school students who reside in shelters for homeless persons. Project Director: George W. Fair
- Richardson ISD/UTD AVID Project. Investigates the use of college tutors in the academic acceleration of middle and high school students. Project Director: George W. Fair
- Madison High School DISD/UTD SAT. Investigates the provision of SAT preparation and pre-college activities to increase the number of students attending universities. Project Director: George W. Fair
- Lincoln High School DISD/UTD SAT Project. Investigates the provision of SAT preparation and pre-college activities to increase the number of students attending universities. Project Director: George W. Fair
- DISD/Students Making Abstinence Real Today (SMART) project. Investigates after-school abstinence programming for sutdents in grades 4-8. Project Director: George W. Fair
- KERA Math Can Take You Places. Investigates pre-algebra activities for students in grades 4-8. Project Director: George W. Fair
