UTD's Creative Problem Solving Team has competed in state and global competitions each since 1997. Currently they participate in Destination Imagination, which is one of the world's largest creativity and problem solving programs for youth of all ages, with thousands of participants in 47 states, and 15 countries. In preparation for competition, the teams meet weekly to learn creative and critical thinking skills, presentation skills, project management strategies, collaboration techniques, and research skills. The team members also spend a great deal of time working with our local region helping manage elementary and secondary teams, hosting workshops for the elementary through secondary teams in the area, and appraising at regional competitions.

UTD not only has the largest collegiate program in the country, we are the only university who recruits novice team members and trains them in creative problem solving skills. This year the university will field five teams who will compete in each of the five different challenges. Students interested in participating should contact Gina Felts at 972-883-4297 or ginaf@utdallas.edu
